Storyboarding
From Pencil to Picture
I recently came across some old storyboards that I worked on early in the development of making my first short film, Our Kind Of Love and it reminded me how films change and morph from inception to delivery.
They say you make three films. The one you write, the one you shoot and the one you edit. The latter is the film in picture lock, the one that you release to the world.
A storyboard can go a long way in helping a director pre-visualise the film and I wanted to take this opportunity to show how different the finished film looks from the inception artwork.
Plan with a storyboard but don’t be scared to throw it all out if you see something better on the day!
