Elham Ehsas tells stories about the quiet moments that split your life in two, the kind that start small and end up changing everything.
A BAFTA-nominated, Oscar-shortlisted writer, director, and actor, Elham is drawn to the raw and personal in a way that lets strangers in the dark feel a little less alone. His work finds hope in broken places, and beauty in people trying, failing, and trying again.
His short film Yellow was BAFTA-nominated in 2024 and shortlisted for the Academy Awards the same year, screening at festivals across the world. His latest short, There Will Come Soft Rains, premiered at Aspen ShortFest and won Best UK Short at Raindance in 2025.
Elham also recently served as Second Unit Director on The Crown (Netflix).
He is currently developing his debut feature with the BFI, writing a new series for Bad Wolf Productions, and collaborating with acclaimed theatre director Justin Martin on his debut play.
In 2025, Elham was invited to join the Academy as an Oscar voter and selected for BAFTA Connect, BAFTA’s three-year mentorship programme.
