West Nordic Film Festival
highlights
I was thrilled to be invited to the West Nordic Film Festival for my film "Yellow" this year. The festival takes place in Ålesund, Norway, a little town perched between deep fjords and the open sea. And my God, was it beautiful. You can see the town in all its splendour if you climb 418 steps to the Aksla viewpoint, a journey that is heavy on the thighs but pretty good on the eyes.
As stunning as the setting was, the films showcased were equally captivating. The festival brought together visionary filmmakers both internationally as well as from across the Nordic region, and here are some of my favourites.
Amarela / André Hayato Saito
And The Wind Weeps / Aulona Selmani
Dammi / Yann Mounir Demange
On the Way / Samir Karahoda

When the Snow Has Melted / Rasmus Sandager
